Band success in Perth

After a gap in participation, the band returned to national competition on Sunday 9th March in the Fourth Section of the Scottish Brass Band Championships achieving first place in Perth.  Winning the Scottish Fourth Section is a credit to the hard work by the band over the last four months and, especially, the dedication, drive and enthusiasm of the band’s Musical Director, Neill McDonald.

As well as securing the winners’ prizes, it was a proud day for Daniel Toller who was recognised as the youngest BB^♭ Bass player in the competition.  Also notable was the participation of Ivy Braid as one of the four players in the Percussion Section at only nine years old.

Winning the Scottish Fourth Section secures the band a place in the British Brass Band Championships later this year in September.
